Adoption Story | David + Naomi

Adopting babies is such a beautiful experience, one we had the opportunity to share with one of our former Bride & Groom. We filmed their wedding a little over five years ago. So, when they made the decision to adopt, they gave us a call saying they wanted us to document their adoption story just like we did their wedding day.

Adopting-Twins

This was probably one of the most emotional events we have ever captured. One that so touched our hearts very deeply. Ben & Kaila, the adoptive parents stressed the importance of portraying the twins Birth Mother as a hero, who chose to give her children life with an adoptive family. We saw the love of this Birth Mother for her children and the difficult road she walked to give them life and a precious adoptive family.

We had a few false alarms as Ben & Kaila were adopting twins and the Birth Mother would deliver about two and a half hours away from both us & the adoptive parents. We were all on call to make a quick trip to the hospital the last month of her pregnancy. It’s a little after 12:00am and we get the call, saying the Birth Mother’s water had broken and it was a race to make it for the birth for all of us. Well, we made it just in the nick of time and we got to be right there in the midst of it all. Click play to share in this very special adoption story of David & Naomi.

This adoption was lovingly facilitated by Circle of Love a ministry helping pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and beyond. They offer support and love to all who share in this circle of love.

Honoring Fallen Heroes

Memorial Day is set aside to honor all those who given their life while serving in our military. My grandfather was one of those great men in uniform who gave his life serving our country. My grandma always said he died doing what he loved. We say thank you to the Fallen Heroes and especially to those they have left behind. We have such great respect for those men and women in uniform and also their families.

Five years ago we produced this video for the Broken Arrow Blue Star Mothers honoring our local military. This year they requested we updated the video to add more local soldiers who had given their lives while serving since the video was produced. I must say, it is heart wrenching to see the Fallen Hero’s segment honoring the Fallen Military and their families knowing they made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. If your family has paid the ultimate sacrifice, on this Memorial Day we honor you and your Fallen Hero. And to those who are serving, we also say Thank You! We pray for God’s wisdom and protection to surround all our soldiers. God Bless America!

Happy Birth Mother’s Day

To all those Birth Mothers who chose to give the gift of life… Happy Birth Mother’s Day!

Many things have touched our hearts over the years, filming wedding and events, but the story above touched our hearts in a very special way…

We had filmed Ben & Kaila’s wedding several years ago. Their highlight ranks as one of our favorites and was an International Award Winner. After not being able conceive a child, they made the decision to adopt. Through some friends they came in contact with Circle of Love in Wichita, KS. A Birth Mother, Megan, from Circle of Love came across their profile and chose them to adopt her unborn twins.

Yes, twins, a boy & a girl! Ben & Kaila were thrilled to begin this adoption journey to becoming parents. More importantly, their wedding film was such a treasure to them, they wanted a film of their adoption journey as well to one day share with their twins. This is just the first in a series of videos sharing a portion of their story. This one they wanted to be for the express purpose of showing their love and appreciation for their Birth Mother, Megan.

Meagan touched our hearts as we met her on delivery day at the hospital. She gave Ben & Kaila an amazing gift, the gift of children. I must say, it wasn’t the easy way. It took great courage to and strength to carry this pregnancy to full term, but she felt it was best for those two precious lives she brought into this world.

Today is Birth Mother’s Day. A day to celebrate Meagan and all Birth Mothers who choose to place their unborn children with a loving family through adoption. I must say, it is one of the most sacrificial acts of love a Birth Mother can do for her unborn child. Today and every day we salute Birth Mothers for choosing to give life!

Baby A’s Gender Reveal Party

Boy or Girl ?

Family & friends gathered for our daughter & son in law’s Gender Reveal party this past weekend.  Guests were asked to make their guess on this chalkboard as to whether they were having a  baby boy or a girl. Look who was winning.

Check out all the fun in the video as guests got to take a bite of cupcake to see if there was blue or pink inside to reveal boy or girl.   It was a big surprise and one we can one day share with Baby A.

Tori used all her milk glass for the party for all the yummy sweets.

All the flowers where wild flowers from her yard.

You could have Muddy Boots Punch for Pretty in Pink Punch….

After the ultra sound earlier in the day, Tori secretly filled all the cupcakes with the surprise…

It’s a BOY!  Tori & Micah are soon soon be the proud parents of Baby A!

We all agree it was fun to share this surprise as a family and one we won’t forget.

The Athertons on the left and the Von Lankens on the right.

If you have any good grandparent names, let us know.  We are supposed to have our names picked out before Baby A arrives in early February.
